Great bed & pillows. Staff is kind. Parking is scarce & oddly has a one way one lane entrance with no exit. So get there early enough for parking!
Starbucks in the lobby has minimal food options, so if you’re looking for a good breakfast, this may not be the right spot.

This is our home from home whenever we come to Grand Rapids. Always receive a very warm and friendly welcome back. After handling the checkout the clerk actually walked around the desk to point us towards the elevator. I noticed he did this for the previous guest checking in as well. He struck me as very professional and yet very friendly.
The hotel hallways and our room were extremely clean. Very comfortable bed and plenty of hot water in a great room. You are going to love the views and they are right in the thick of fun places to see. You guys are awesome!!

Service and experience were awesome! Loved the live band. Unfortunately, the food was not as expected. I have had the pleasure of visiting France a few times and enjoyed the authenticity of the tastes. If you are truly looking for French cuisine, this is not the place for it.

We hosted our rehearsal dinner and wedding block at the Holiday Inn. The staff was incredibly easy to work with and always quick to respond and accommodate. The rehearsal dinner space was perfect and we got nothing but incredible reviews on the food. Booking the block was very easy and guests had no issues booking their rooms. On our wedding night we came back to our room to find a cheese and cracker board as well as some wine, a very nice touch! Highly recommend the Holiday Inn to anyone getting married in Grand Rapids.

Amazing experience all around. The two girls at the front desk were so sweet and welcoming! I mentioned I was staying here for my boyfriends birthday and she gave us complimentary drinks/appetizer card. The hotel itself was just renovated and it looks great. Our hotel room was nice as well. Will be coming here for any future trips!

While the hotel is aging, it truly shines in other aspects. The pool, spa, and fitness area was very clean and relaxing. The rooms were clean, smelled nice, and the bed was great. That being said, I’m a regular here due to work and I must say my favorite part of this hotel is the staff. The evening staff had an answer for all of my questions and directed me tomorrow the best places to eat and relax, which is important to me as a combat veteran. Jennifer truly takes customer service and makes it an art form. I have stayed in hotels all over the world and I found the customer service I received here was among the best.

Not worth the price.
Hotel does not look like the pictures. They were obviously taken years ago. Hotel is aging and some things are in disrepair (broken elevator lights, side door is tricky, etc).
Room was clean but decor very datedā¦very ā80ās. Bathrooms are extremely small.
Restaurant was closed and no breakfast available.
No brochures or pamphlets in the room regarding the facility or nearby attractions. No idea if they even have a pool or spa / jacuzzi. Staff didnāt mention it and no information available about it in the room. Very accommodating and friendly. They honored our request for early check in and check in was smooth and quick.
All in all the room was nice but definitely NOT worth the price. Could have gotten the same type of room at a Best Western for less, or better room at a Holiday Inn for less. $130.00 per night was not a value.

Price was great for location. Hotel is aging, but they are clearly trying to maintain what they have. The true asset here are their staff! I can not speak highly enough of every employee we interacted with. The evening staff were very informative about places to go and things to do. Everyone was very friendly.

One star for the folks working at the front desk- the only good thing about staying here. The room felt like trying to sleep in a parking garage. The window was over five feet off of the ground- the room felt unsafe and gave an overall claustrophobic feeling. The room was noisy from toilets and walking upstairs. Also it was cold and the water in the shower never got very hot. The bed was very uncomfortable. Chair for the desk very uncomfortable too. TV was not on a swivel and was installed at a bad angle. Parking is expensive but accessible through indoor walkways. Scheme for the light switches is idiotic-if you want to save electricity do what hotels in Europe do which is a switch turned on/off with your room key. A terrible hotel stay for a business trip. Better hotel is Hyatt Place up the street.

Great location and friendly staff! Helped hold bags for me when I needed to check out before my plane trip. Traveled for work and it is a great location near the airport and the shopping center across the street. Severs well known restaurants. The in hotel dining was good with decent pub food. I recommend the burger. Good selection of alcohol and beer. Room was nice and clean. Regular 20 minute interval for shuttle rides to the airport.

This has to be one of the worst hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. I would love to rate the service, but there is none. I have been here for four nights now and not one person has been in the room to change towels ,empty garbage, vacuum , replenish toilet paper , tissues or glasses.
Our first night here the sink would not drain and there was no way to have a bath as there was no stopper for the tub . We have been to the front desk every night to try and get issues sorted out but weāre continually met with answers like take care of it yourself. We have had to take out our own garbage and go to the front desk to get usual supplies such as glasses towels etc. The chair in the room is stained along with the rug and room is not clean at all. The shower curtain smells like a dirty towel . This hotel is not worth the amount of money that they charge. I would rate this as a two star at best . Look else where.

Stayed here night before flight to Florida. Chose this hotel because they had the park and ride available however we were signed up for the 5 AM shuttle to the airport only to find when we arrived at the lobby a few minutes before 5 AM that they did not have a driver. Advised he called off and informed from the receptionist that was extremely frustrated that this particular driver does this quite often and is not reliable. They had contacted another driver but he was not going to be in there in time to transport my family (9 of us total/3 vehicles) to get us to the airport in adequate time before our flight. We had to pack up our vehicles and drive ourselves to the airport which the receptionist advised us when we got back home to call into the manager and they would reimburse us for the fee we had to pay at the airport for parking. Our parking fee was $70 per vehicle for the length of our stay which we were going to pay $30 for the park and ride at the hotel and the manager gave us each a credit of $14.67 is what showed up on our credit cards. I completely understand staffing issues and sometimes you canāt control when people call off but when we were advised that this particular employee does this quite often and has had complaints filed to management but yet they still rely on him and the customers are the ones that are inconvenienced because of it. There are many other hotels in Grand Rapids that do the park and ride and I would recommend using somebody other than Holiday Inn express.

It was not the best experience staying here. The entire lobby/first floor reeked of curry. Our room was very dark but one bulb was burnt out. We had them bring up a new bulb but it didnāt help. It was just a very dark room. The voicemail system was down so the phone in our room flashed a red light into the dark all night long. We ended up covering it up so not a huge deal. But.. The heating/air conditioning unit was exceptionally loud even for a hotel. To the point that it was disruptive to our sleep all night long and we were exhausted all the next day when we traveled. Pretty much ruined our first day of vacation because we were so sleep deprived. One side of the fitted sheet was stained with what appeared to be blood. We fly out of Grand Rapids at least 3-4 times a year and this time decided to stay the night because of an earlier flight plus snowy road conditions from home to GR. I will never stay at this hotel again.

To start, all these positive reviews are likely from the ‘residents’ of this hotel. Individuals and families are living in this hotel and part of the deal is to leave 5/5 stars in order to stay longer and use the shuttle service to nearby stores. While I have no problem with folks finding solutions for affordable housing, this gives a false impression of the cleanliness and friendliness of staff. This hotel is a DUMP. Black mold in and all around the shower head, paint covering black mold on the ceilings, build up of dirt/grease/gunk in all the corners of the bathroom. The bath tub floor was slippery with soap scum and mildew, carpets were covered in crumbs, curtains were dusty and stained. You could see long term grime and dust build up on the walls. The beds were mushing and the box springs were flimsy and uncovered. The linens and towels smelled musty. The lobby looked ok, but do not let that fool you. We switched rooms multiple times, and each one was truly awful. Very concerned for bugs as well, given the overall filth of this establishment. Needs a complete renovation and new cleaning crew.

The room was very clean and had a really comfortable mattress and four pillows. I really liked the comforter too. It made getting out of bed hard because it was so comfortable. The bathroom was fully stocked with seven towels and toiletries so that was very convenient. The lady at the front desk was friendly too and they served a full breakfast buffet. I would definitely stay here again.

Dishonest and greedy. I booked through a third party site, reserving a two bedroom, two bathroom suite with two king beds over a month ago. Today I called ahead of arrival to confirm my room was ready, and they have a one bedroom with one king and a pull-out for me, and offered no partial refund and no cancellation even though this is clearly not close to what I paid for. This is due to their overbooking, so they think it is fine to charge me for twice the room and give me half of what I paid for! Avoid this dishonest hotel.

I have stayed at this hotel many times between 2010 and the writing of this review in 10/2021. My youngest son went to Calvin College 2010-2014 and now lives in Grand Rapids. The staff is great and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The King Suite I was in, during this visit, is showing signs of wear and needs a bit of updating. I give 4 stars because for two nights we had to endure the heavy footed noise from the people directly above us. Their walking extremely hard across the floor made it difficult to sleep.

Good value for location. But…one small elevator. One ice machine. Nice rooms with kitchen and seating area, wifi, tvs, limited kitchen utensils. No regular coffee maker, but coffee in lobby. Hot breakfast. Pool closed. Small fitness center. Works for a longer stay at reasonable rate but with marginal amenities. Would stay here again.

The shower had mold in it. The comforter was dingy and the food was ok. The staff was very nice. I think they may have been short staff with cleaning because I saw signs that cleaning was available upon request only. The phones, desks, lamps were super dusty. We were there for a business trip and my husband’s job paid for it. When we checked in they asked for a card for incidentals and charged him $15. No big deal. We checked the next day and they charged his card the price of the room even though his job paid for it already. So basically they charged him and his company. His job is going to call to have it sorted it out but it’s odd that he was charged even though the company had a card on file already with them. We ended up getting the room for an extra night as we drove and needed the rest. They were super nice and efficient with getting us into a new room and we did not have to wait at all. The staff is awesome and courteous, I just think they need more help with cleaning and they need a better processing system.

I arrived late (11:30PM) and was greeted by a super friendly desk clerk that promptly checked me in and explained where my room was located and where I could park. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the room was. I had a King Suite and it was spacious, clean and comfortable. Overall the hotel was clean, staff was friendly and the breakfast options were sufficient for COVID-19 times. The biggest surprise was how quiet the room was. The hotel was full and I didn’t hear anything coming from the hallways also, this hotel is close to the freeway and yet I didn’t hear any traffic. The only negative I have is that without GPS I’m not sure how long it would have taken me to find my way to the hotel. As it was I looped the windy roads a few times before finding the entrance. I highly recommend staying here and I know that when I return to the area I will.

As I begin, I did book through a 3rd party. I notice that usually leads to issues, and it did.
Cons:
Arrived to a parking lot full of busted rocks/garden stones smashed all over the sidewalk, parking lot, and where cars were parked. It was very intentionally done, but I did not see any visible damage to the cars at this point in time.
The room I booked was 2 queen. . The room they gave me has one full size bed. There are 3 of us, so I asked the desk to please move me to a room with two beds. Since I booked with a third party she told me no that they need to fix it not her. We just finished driving half way across the country with kids and were exhausted. She said she would call and talk to the company .
There was plastic wrap all over the carpets which I think was due to bed bug treatment. They said it’s not, and it was from updating. They may be telling the truth but I can’t be upset if they were treating for bugs… at least they would be treating.
After a half hour of waiting, the lady asked me if we were going to leave. I was confused so I said, ok.. yes. I handed her the key and had to go find a new hotel in the middle of the night.
Now they are charging me for all 4 nights I booked since it was through a 3rd party and both say they cannot help me. Literally the hotel only has to approve a refund. I never touched a thing in the room and didn’t stay there. This is terrible.
Pros: Smells clean inside… the hotel did look clean. The pool and jacuzzi are open late. The staff seems overworked and understaffed but still trying their best in general. I wish I could have stayed there… the price was good… but here I pay for it and cannot use it? I now have to file a dispute with my bank for about 400 bucks I’m being charged for a room I didn’t get. One more thing to do.

Shopped around for a room with a romantic hot tub and found one here. The reception was polite and efficient, getting us settled quickly. The room and bedding was clean with only minor smudges here and there. The tub function as expected until we tried to drain it and discovered that it was broken and needed maintenance. The hallway outside the room could be vacuumed more often than once every few days. The landscape outside the window was of a romantic parking lot, curtains were pulled tight upon discovery. We made a bit of noise, the two of us, but did not hear any complaints or have any interruptions to our evening. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Each item was hot, fresh, and of good quality. Dishes were clean and food plentiful.

Went on a small stay vacation to relax before our busy season at work. Booked a room with a jacuzzi tube so I could relax peacefully. As soon as I walked in to check into my room a group of guys are sitting in the lobby with a case of beer drinking. Hitting on the young lady at the front desk. I went to my room just down the hall to try and enjoy a nice soak in the jacuzzi turn the jets on and it dosent work. Went back to the front desk told the young lady. She apologized and told me she would be happy to give me a discounted rate of my two night stay. Didn’t offer me to change rooms or anything else. I go and check out after my stay look at my bill a hole $20.00 was taken off just on one of my two night stays. Don’t think I will be returning back will also be contacting the corporate office.

The cleanliness of our room was not what I would expect from a Hilton brand hotel. The duvet cover had a long black hair and visible lint. All linens appeared dingy and half clean. The corner next to the entry door had visible dirt and debris that was not cleaned/swept. The bathroom looked old and the
water from the sink faucet did not clear the sink bowl unless it was turned 100% on. I would likely choose a non-hilton brand hotel if staying in this area again.

This was a nice and comfortable hotel, and if u needed something, every store was within close driving distance. Stayed here for a conference, very convenient to the airport. Staff were very friendly. The hotel itself is an older property, Iām guessing it hasnāt always been a double tree. Some of the building needs some TLC. The room was just your basic standard room, nothing special, kinda dated but it was clean. Windows are kinda small so it felt like there wasnāt a lot of natural light, but just my opinion. Iād stay here again but there are also a lot of options in the area Iād youāre looking for something a little more modernā¦

Our team had a hockey tournament over the weekend and we stayed at this hotel, absolutely amazing! I was personally assisted by the manager Stephenie and she was absolutely amazing! So nice and personable she made sure to accommodate all of our teams needs. The entire hotel is newly renovated and beautiful. The continental breakfast was delicious all the kids had fun making their own waffles. The lobby has a good assortment of board games, card games, as well as a giant connect 4 board for the kids to play with. We had the luxury of a conference room over the weekend which was nice! All the conference rooms are perfect situated next to the pool so our kids could go back and forth with ease. Our conference room was very spacious with a giant tv screen all the kids watched hockey on. The pool and surrounding area was quite clean with plenty of good spaces for parents to sit and watch the kids swim. Our hotel rooms were blocked together on the fourth floor so our whole team had the ability to roam from room to room with their friends which was great! Each of our suites was a great size for our families with very comfortable beds and everything you could expect out of a room. This hotel is super close to downtown as well we had no issue going to and from the city for excursions. Overall had an amazing stay with this hotel and would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in Grand Rapids!

What a comfortable night. We were refreshed to give our presentation in the morning. Everyone here was so courteous and kind. The breakfast was very good and we had absolutely no issues at all. We would certainly stay here again. Very nice and safe area around this Inn as well and close to many activities and events.

My boyfriend and I arrived kind of late to the hotel. As we arrived we walked in and it was very clean and a little loud as there was a hockey team in the breakfast area. The gentleman man at the front desk I believe his name was Connor, he was very nice and gave us all of our information we needed. I was sad to hear the pool/spa was not open for use. We headed up to our room and the room was very clean!! I really enjoyed that they had shampoo and conditioner and body wash fixed into the shower! It was a very pleasant stay! Besides it being in the city next to down town with all the night life it was a birthday weekend we wonāt forget!! Definitely will stay here again!!

Friendly staff and clean rooms/environment. The showers have nice shampoo and body wash that is fixed into the wall which I think is much nicer than most other hotels I have visited. Only nitpick I have is the doors to the room and bathroom were very loud when you would open/ close them. I think the hinges just need some adjustment. Otherwise, no complaints. Will stay again and I do recommend!

Let me start with the front desk attendant needs a raise! Or a promotion. 5 star attitude in a 2 star establishment.Checked in and decided room was a little small so we decided to upgrade to a suite. Upon arriving we always check beds. Found no mattress protector on bed along with what looked like cleaned blood stains on the mattress. Also uncleaned blood on bathroom door. Decided that might not be too bad until we saw the couch we COVERED in stains. Also had some type of bug all over the ceiling and curtains. Also noticed a larger amount of the same type of bug along the stairwell. Not sure if they have a problem with this but we were not notified. I wanted to go home which is almost 45 minutes away but my fiance was exhausted and tired of driving so the wonderful front desk associate did offer money back or a new suite so we took the new suite in hopes of a cleaner room to get a good night sleep. Was met with a slightly cleaner room but mattress still had stains & this couch had MORE stains. Just counted as a loss got some sleep and ended up just checking out maybe 2/3 hours before check out just to get out of there. Used to be my go to spot when i am in the area. Probably wont return.

The rooms are nice and clean. However, we had a bad experience with breakfast. We were told that the breakfast is until 9:00 am. We went down at 8:40 am for breakfast and there were out of scrambled eggs and hash brown in the tray. Those were the only non-meat options in fresh hot breakfast. Asked the receptionist if they could make more, she flat out refused and was rude. All it takes is to crack a few eggs!

Dr. Matt and his team are simply the best. Iām always greeted with warm friendly smiles. Everyone knows who I am, Iām not treated like another numbered patient there. I like that.
Dr Matt is amazing at what he does, not just doing adjustments, but helping explain to you what you have going on, why you are having the issues you are having, and what plans he has in order to help make you better. I promise, if you follow through, you will see results. Heās fun, heās funny, and he personalizes his session to each person. He is wonderful doing my 3 year old daughters adjustments too! She loves going in for her adjustments to āget fixed by Dr Mattā. Since she has started going. Her night terrors have become less and less to almost gone!

Before coming the the Chiro Doctors I could not move my neck. I somehow tweaked it two weeks prior. It definitely wouldnāt have gotten better on its own so my husband recommended that I try them out. I was apprehensive at first. However, after two visits(one week) I had full range of motion in my entire body. Definitely would recommend. Staff is pretty great too! Very flexible with appointments!!
